A big thank you to Eagles for Children!

Thank you Eagles for Children for awarding BBBSSEM a $3,000 Grant!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Michigan was honored to attend an award ceremony hosted by Eagles for Children. The idea of using one great moment on the golf course, “an eagle,” to benefit thousands — or potentially millions of children in need, inspired program co-founders Hal Zaima and Don Kegley, friends and life-long golf enthusiasts, to test the Eagles for Children® program at Oakland Hills Country Club in 2012. After celebrating their 11th year, Eagles for Children® has given grants to local children’s charities totaling over $4.8 million.

BBBSSEM was awarded $3,000 for our JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion) Youth Voices Youth Clubs. Funding will help to support two new Youth Clubs, created and led by youth who are involved in our mentoring programs ages 12-15. Through a previous grant from the Anne Hayes Fund this past summer, we are currently establishing two Youth Clubs. Funding from Eagles for Children allows BBBSSEM to establish two additional youth clubs to provide healthy, positive activities for young people to develop a voice, gain a sense of belonging, and increase their overall wellbeing through deeper connections with their peers and mentors within Big Brothers Big Sisters.

A BIG Thank you to Eagles for Children for supporting and giving young people a voice in their communities and helping them gain leadership experience!
