Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Michigan is proud to spotlight the ongoing match between Big Brother Rob and Little Brother KJ, who have been paired since December 2022. Through their time together, Rob and KJ have established a strong, fun-filled connection that centers around their shared love of sports and technology.
As a site-based match at Estabrook Elementary School in Ypsilanti, Rob and KJ meet each week to play games, have fun, and spend quality time together. Their favorite memory so far? Simply getting the chance to play with one another every week. Whether it’s shooting hoops, playing soccer, or diving into the latest tech gadgets, these two are always excited to see what each new week brings.
What makes Rob and KJ’s match unique is their shared ability to meet each other where they are. Whether it’s adapting their plans to fit the moment or choosing the activity that feels right for both of them, this match is built on flexibility, mutual respect, and fun.
When asked about their match motto, Rob and KJ couldn’t come up with one just yet—but that’s okay. Sometimes, it’s the simple things, like shared laughter and meaningful moments, that speak the loudest.
Rob and KJ’s story is a testament to the power of mentorship. By building their relationship on trust and shared interests, they’ve created a bond that goes beyond the activities they do together. It’s about making the most of their time, supporting one another, and simply enjoying the journey.
As this dynamic duo continues to meet each week, we look forward to seeing where their friendship will go from here!
