Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Michigan (BBBSSEM) played a crucial role in supporting a tree planting event hosted by The Greening of Detroit on Saturday, May 18. Matches, families, and Littles from our waitlist enthusiastically joined the effort with other organization, demonstrating their commitment to community and environmental stewardship. Alongside our dedicated staff members who manned an informational table, many participants rolled up their sleeves and contributed to planting trees throughout the area.
The event provided a wonderful opportunity for our matches and others to engage with local volunteers, forging connections and creating lasting memories. These interactions are pivotal in fostering a sense of community and responsibility among our participants, instilling values that extend beyond mentoring relationships.
To sustain these impactful initiatives and ensure continued support for our matches and their families, we encourage you to consider donating to BBBSSEM. Becoming a monthly donor allows us to maintain our community engagement efforts, strengthen partnerships, and provide ongoing opportunities for mentorship. Your consistent support helps Bigs and Littles develop trust, overcome challenges, and ultimately achieve their full potential. Help us to continue great opportunities like these and others for our matches and their families by donating here.
