BECOME A PART OF A BRIGHTER FUTURE

Your financial support helps us provide our programs to children in our community who need it the most! Your donation helps us develop more college grads, community leaders, and entrepreneurs.

THE NEED

BBBSSEM serves 500 school aged youth in match programs (52% girls and 48% boys) between 7 to 18 years of age whose parents/guardians have entrusted BBBS to support their child’s learning and growth to reach their potential. In our Community Based Mentoring (CBM) program, 87% of our Littles’ household incomes fall below, or just slightly above the federal poverty limit, which in 2023 is $24,860 for a parent/guardian with two children (Family of 3). 75% of Littles are African American, 10% are White, 13% define themselves as other or mixed race, and 2% are Hispanic. From a geographical perspective, 100% of  BBBSSEM participants reside in Washtenaw, Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties and 79% live in ALICE–Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed  (designated by zip code) communities which have been identified as under-served communities).
