Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Michigan is excited to announce the recent launch of its school-based programming, a Lunch Buddies program, at Estabrook Elementary School. The atmosphere was electric as the kids, Bigs, and the team—including intern Elena—came together to sign the expectations for the year (see picture). The Lunch Buddies program at Estabrook is officially underway, and the enthusiasm from both Bigs and Littles was palpable as they returned for another year of fun and connection.

So far, the Bigs and Littles have been engaging in a variety of activities, from competitive sports like basketball, soccer, and tennis to creative arts and crafts, Lego-building, and enjoying time outdoors. Beyond the fun and games, they have focused on setting goals for the year, discussing expectations, and even creating personal autobiographies to help each child reflect on their dreams and aspirations.

The organization is excited about the potential this year holds and looks forward to continuing to expand the program, reaching even more young people and helping them explore their possibilities. It promises to be an incredible school year, and everyone is eager to see how the Lunch Buddies will grow and connect!

Stay tuned for updates as the program continues to make a positive impact in the lives of local youth!
