Wolverines Legend Jamie Morris Joins the Big Draft Watch Party!

From Underdog to All-Time Great:

Jamie Morris’ story is one of perseverance and exceeding expectations. Morris played at the University of Michigan from 1984 to 1987 and broke the school’s all-time rushing records in yards gained in a season (1,703 yards) and a career (4,392 yards). Morris still holds the U-M school record for all-purpose yards with 6,201. Morris went on to play in the NFL for the Washington Redskins, where he set the NFL record for the most rushing attempts in a game with 45 attempts, as well as the New England Patriots.

More Than Just Stats:

Jamie’s impact extends far beyond the gridiron. He played under the legendary coach Bo Schembechler, who initially doubted Morris’ potential due to his height. But Jamie proved him wrong, becoming a four-year starter, setting records and earning Schembechler’s ultimate respect.

A Pillar of the U of M Community:

After his playing career, Jamie remained deeply involved with the University of Michigan. He dedicated himself to supporting student athletes by working in the development office and hosting “The M Zone,” a radio show highlighting Michigan athletics that airs weekdays from 3-6pm on Sports Talk 1050am, WTKA, The Ticket! in Ann Arbor.
