The Big Draft Watch Party (BDWP), held on April 25th at the iconic Comerica Park, brought together over 200 football enthusiasts, community leaders, and supporters of mentorship to shine a spotlight on the 200+ Littles awaiting mentor matches in Southeast Michigan. Through this event, due to the generosity of our donors and attendees, we raised over $142,000 in sponsorships, ticket sales and donations!

The BDWP was not just about watching picks unfold on high-definition TVs; it was an immersive experience filled with memorable moments that allowed Bigs, Littles and the BBBSSEM community to connect. Attendees had the chance to mingle with sports icons like Pro-Football Hall of Famer Will Shields, Detroit Tigers Legend Dave Rozema, Wolverines Legend Jamie Morris and former NFL player Anthony “Spice” Adams. The event was also graced by the presence of Old Spice Little Reporter and BBBSSEM Little, Leo, who interviewed top NFL Draft prospects, including the Detroit Lions 1st Round Draft Pick, Terrion Arnold, thanks to BBBS of America’s impactful partnership with Old Spice.
The day was filled with excitement, as guests enjoyed ballpark fare, engaged in fun activities, and connected with like-minded individuals, all while making meaningful contributions to BBBS SEM’s mission of supporting life-changing mentorship for youth in Southeast Michigan.
Jennifer Spitler, BBBSSEM President and CEO, emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “The Big Draft Watch Party is more than just a viewing party; it’s an opportunity to celebrate Detroit, build connections, and create lasting memories while supporting the critical work we do at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Michigan. Every participant becomes a champion for our youth, ensuring they have the chance to reach their full potential.”
Thank you to all who attended and supported the BDWP. Your involvement is truly making a difference in the lives of our Littles and empowering our community for a brighter future.
